International Joint Conferences Post-IWHT2024 and International Heat Transfer Seminar IHTS 2024にて、横山綜馬さん（大学院創発科学研究科、博士前期課程）がPoster Award（優秀ポスター賞）を受賞しました。
題目：High intensity combustion of NH₃ by a burner with a swirl-throttle structure

この会議の目的は、最新の伝熱?物質移動に関する情報交換の国際的な場を提供するとともに、産業界および学術分野における質の高い研究開発手法を普及させることです。(HPより：Following the success of IWHT2023, the post-IWHT and 36th Heat Transfer Seminar – IHTS2024 will continue to be held in Tokushima, Japan, October 10-12, 2024. The objective of this conference is to provide an international forum for exchange of latest heat and mass transfer information as well as for dissemination of high-quality research and development methods in industry and academic fields.)

横山綜馬さんのコメント：
地球温暖化を阻止するために、燃焼時にCO₂を排出しない燃料として、水素燃料やアンモニア燃料が注目されています。しかしながら、単体のアンモニアは空気のみの条件で、安定して燃焼させることが非常に難しいとされています。本研究では、『富岳』や東京大学などの世界最速スーパーコンピュータを用いた大型数値解析と実験の結果、および新発想の機械設計を基に、安定してアンモニアを高負荷燃焼できるバーナーを初めて開発できました。
また、発表は英語で行われ、英語に自信がなかったため不安もありましたが、指導教員や研究室のメンバーからのアドバイスの甲斐もあり、賞を頂けたことを非常にうれしく思います。
