Dean's Message
Hidenori Yoshida
My name is Hidenori Yoshida, and I am deeply honored to have been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Design as of October 1, 2025.
It has been 27 years since I joined Kagawa University. During this time, I have served in various roles, including Vice Dean of the former Faculty of Engineering and Vice President of Kagawa University, contributing to faculty- and university-wide administration. Drawing on these experiences, I am fully committed to advancing the development of the Faculty of Engineering and Design.
The future I envision for our faculty centers on the concept of “Design”—solving the complex challenges faced by people and society and creating new value in the process.
In education, we aim to design learning experiences that balance theory and practice. Through this approach, students develop the ability to learn from failures and acquire the skills needed for effective collaboration, ultimately transforming personal growth into solid expertise .
In research, we will foster a culture of empirical validation that bridges data and real-world applications. We will pursue continuous knowledge advancement through interdisciplinary collaboration and societal implementation.
In regional partnership, we will co-create with diverse partners from industry, government, academia, and the community. We will promote projects that are rooted in regional needs while expanding their reach across Japan and the world.
As the foundation for all these efforts, we will unite the collective knowledge of our students, faculty, and staff, and, with deep respect for ethics, safety, and social responsibility, ensure that the cycle of “Design” generates tangible social value.
I sincerely request your continued understanding and support.
